Gabrielle McLaren earned her MA from Concordia University’s Department of History in 2022 before joining DePOT as Associate Director. Her research interests include environmental and medical history, labour history, and settler colonial studies.

She earned her undergraduate degree in history and world literature from Simon Fraser University in 2022 and worked in student journalism and support work in Vancouver. She is excited to support DePOT’s researchers and activities while she takes a break from school to work, knit, volunteer, and write.
