Recognized by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) as a designated consultant in all matters related to the study and preservation of industrial heritage, TICCIH is the world organization for industrial heritage. As an organization, it is dedicated to promoting international cooperation in the preservation, conservation, documentation, research, and interpretation of global industrial heritage. The focus of its work includes the material remains of industrial sites, buildings, and machinery, in addition to the housing, industrial settlements, and other forms of heritage associated with industrial histories. TICCIH attracts a broad membership composed of historians, curators, architects, archeologists, students and heritage professionals, and in some countries is organized within national associations. TICCIH also publishes a quarterly bulletin on news in global industrial heritage for its membership, and conducts and publishes international thematic studies.
